| Overview: |
For days one and two of this course, you learn the basic and advanced drawing operations of Arbortext IsoDraw. This course emphasizes hands-on experience, interaction between student and instructor, and a solid foundation in the essential drawing skills and commands needed to produce quality technical illustrations for publications. After completing Day 2 you will be able to: • Understand the history, challenges and techniques of technical illustration. • Work within the Arbortext IsoDraw Interface: menu items, toolbars and floating palettes, workspace and status bar. • Open, save, and close new and existing Arbortext IsoDraw documents. • Perform basic editing operations, such as cut, copy, paste and paste with options. • Work with the attribute Window: pens, styles, shadows, grids, text, viewports, and callouts. • Work with layers. • Create and edit text within an Arbortext IsoDraw document. • Open graphics and 2D CAD files. • Do practical exercises using basic move and extrude commands. • Use perspective and isometric tools. • Edit pixel art (raster data). • Combine pixel art (raster data) and computer-generated artwork (vector art). • Perform intermediate drawing operations, such as extrusion and rotational surfaces. • Project geometry from one plane to another. • Trace photographs (option). • Access the library of parts. • Apply fills and patterns to artwork. On Day 3, you learn how to automate the creation of technical illustrations from existing 3D CAD data. The 3D data is processed specifically for use in technical illustrations. After completing day 3, you will be able to: • Import 3D CAD data to create high quality 2D technical illustrations. • Set 3D options for the import of CAD data. • Optimize IGES import options. • Selectively import 3D assemblies and parts. |
