TriStar Launches Commons, an Interactive Community for the CAD/CAM Industry

Phoenix, AZ, June 30, 2009 – TriStar Inc. announced today the public launch of TriStar Commons, a comprehensive user-directed professional networking site designed to support PTC software users and the product development industry as a whole.

TriStar developed the site to serve as an epicenter for hard-to-find expert blogs, forums, virtual user groups and industry news. Here, users can come for community and interaction with other CAD/CAM professionals and get expert advice from TriStar’s engineering and manufacturing specialists. The site also includes a library of TriStar’s Pro/ENGINEER, Windchill, and Mathcad webcast recordings, and a collection of whitepapers.

“What we are seeking to do is combine information, resources, and most importantly, human interaction into an accessible, centralized location,” said Patrick Maderia, president of TriStar. “We feel that there is a lacking presence of these resources for the CAD/CAM industry, and they certainly are not found in the same spot. We didn’t want this to be a one-sided informational site, but rather to encourage the free-flow of ideas from all sides.”

Registration is not required to view most of the information in the community, but in order to participate in the interactive features of the site users must register and log in. Unlike with other industry community sites, TriStar Commons members have an equal voice; in addition to access to the blogs and groups managed by TriStar, registered users can set up their own blogs and even start public or private discussion groups.

Maderia continued, “One of our main goals recently has been to provide better all-around support for our customers. This community also makes our entire engineering team more accessible, allowing better day-to-day interaction with our customers.”
